GOLDEN-HEADED CISTICOLA
These tiny, sandy-coloured birds inhabit grasslands in northern and eastern Australia. See more at eBird.
I almost always see these little chaps at the Western Treatment Plant, near Werribee Victoria. It really has become a 'go to' place for what I call "driveway shooting' (photographing birds from your car). Even so, this little cisticola was captured while I was on foot heading towards the Austin bird hide, near the T section lagoons. It was a beautifully golden autumn afternoon, and this added to the beauty of the bird. Click on any image to see enlarged photos.
