But of course, there's a lot more to Albury besides a convenient stopover. Firstly, there's a lovely Botanic Garden in the centre of town, a stone's throw from the mighty Murray River. This was plagued by very large squawking flocks of sulphur-crested cockatoos who were determined to eat all the park furniture. There were plenty of ibis around too... A real highlight though was the Wonga wetlands, just 5km drive out of town. It was quiet day on the birding department on this day, although we did get some great shots of a pelican in flight. Refreshed and ready to go, we made our way home - until next time!
