MUSK LORIKEET ON RED FLOWERING GUM
Original Watercolour on Fluid HP 300; Dimensions 270mm x 200mm
$95 (Contact Rosalie) This composition was adapted from one of Beverley’s photos taken in Swansea on the east coast of Tasmania. The challenge for me was to showcase the lovely eucalypt and how well the colours and pattern of the musk lorikeet give it perfect camouflage as it feeds. |

PARTY OF FIVE: WHITE-WINGED CHOUGHS
ORIGINAL: Albrecht Durer Colour Pencil and Graphite on Fabriano HP 300; Dimensions 285mm x 235mm
$495 (Contact Rosalie) This drawing was created using Beverley's photos of white-winged choughs at Hattah-Kulkyne National Park. These birds love to travel in groups and even bring up their young in communal nests. 'It takes a village’ - literally - for these birds. The group was as intrigued by us as we were eager to photograph them. They jockeyed to position themselves for a best vantage point. |
Zebras
ORIGINAL: Holbein Colour Pencil on Fabriano HP 300 Paper; Unframed dimensions 520mm x 330mm
$295 (Contact Rosalie) A flurry of Zebra Finches alighted on reeds in a swamp at Point Cook Coastal Park. They posed for photos then took flight, wheeling and swooping away through the marshes, disappearing as quickly as they had appeared.

Morning Preening
ORIGINAL: Luminance colour pencils on Claire Fontaine Pastelmat; Unframed dimensions 350mm x 250mm
$195 (Contact Rosalie) Three New Holland Honeyeaters' morning preening session on a branch over the Trin Warren Tam-Boore Bellbird waterhole. The birds were using the waterhole to bathe and preen themselves after getting wet. The actions gave them an almost comical air as they would fluff up their feathers as they attempted to scratch and comb with their outstretched claws.

Rainbow lorikeet showing off
ORIGINAL: Holbein colour pencil on Canson Bristol XL Recycled Paper; Unframed dimensions 200mm x 320mm
$195 (Contact Rosalie) This drawing was based on a photo of a Rainbow Lorikeet during mating season. Flexing of feathers and posturing seems to be part of the dance of love for these colourful birds and I admire the way this particular lorikeet is displaying their plumage.
